About
My name is Tom Ouwerkerk.
As a designer, I am fascinated by the everyday world where the things that are taken for granted are the most interesting to change. I am also very interested in learning new things. I want to develop myself by taking on new challenges. I am a positive person who does not give up when faced with a setback but learns from mistakes.
Mission
I design 3dprintable designs to learn and inspire others to make their own project. My designs are downloaded over 500.000 times and have reached millions. I share them for free and make videos/tutorials about my design process.

Levitating Lamp
The standard lamp can are available in many alternative kinds, however practically all of them characteristic a singular bulb that’s uninspired and solely responds to a light-weight swap or probably an app. Designer Tom Ouwerkerk, however, has designed a artistic mild accent price-winning lamp that’s fully 3D-printed and consists of an clever central bulb that “magically” levitates above the bottom, defying gravity.
Motorized Turn Signals
Turn signals are becoming more and more popular with cyclists. So it’s no surprise that we’re seeing more and more Arduino projects that give people the tools they need to ride safely on our busy roads.
The first question you might ask about Tom Ouwerkerk’s latest Arduino project is why it’s motorized. His objective was to make a turn signal unit that’s as compact as possible. When you consider the amount of space you have on a bicycle frame, it makes a lot of sense.
His solution was to use two eight-LED NeoPixel strips, side-by-side. The small housing they’re mounted in has a servo that’s driven by an Arduino Uno. The servo slides the LED strips side to side as Ouwerkerk make a turn signal.
